Supporting Biodiversity Conservation

Meet the PI

Dr. Mary Jamieson

My research focuses on understanding the effects of human-caused environmental change on plants and insects.  I study ecological interactions between plants and their insect herbivores and pollinators. Through research collaborations, I have also recently begun studies that examine plant-insect-microbe interactions. I specialize in the field of chemical ecology, conducting research examining how plant secondary metabolites, including chemical defense compounds and volatile compounds, can influence species interactions.  Beyond my academic pursuits and scientific curiosity, I love to explore the outdoors, discover beauty in nature, and engage in creative activities.
