Researchers have documented significant declines pollinators across the globe, including bees and butterflies. Risk factors threatening pollinators include habitat loss, fragmentation, and degradation due to urbanization and agricultural intensification.

We are investigating pollinators in natural and agroecosystems. We are currently wrapping up research examining the influence of agricultural intensification on bee communities in Colorado grassland habitats. And, recently, we’ve begun research examining bee communities inhabiting urban and suburban farms and gardens in southeast Michigan (Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb Counties). Our research aims to inform conservation strategies and best management practices for supporting pollinators.
